2、 Measurement principle:

It works by utilizing the principle that two different metals have different degrees of expansion when the temperature changes. The main component of industrial bimetallic thermometers is a multi-layer metal sheet composed of two or more metal sheets stacked together. To improve the temperature sensitivity of bimetallic thermometers, the metal sheet is usually made into a spiral coil shape. When the temperature of multi-layer metal sheets changes, the expansion or contraction of each layer of metal varies, causing the spiral coil to roll up or loosen. As one end of the spiral coil is fixed and the other end is connected to a freely rotating pointer, when the bimetallic sheet feels a temperature change, the pointer can indicate the temperature on a circular scale.

6、 Precautions

1. Cannot directly twist the meter head;

2. Choose a standard size that is close in length (integer multiples of 50mm);

3. The length of the protective tube immersed in the measured medium must be greater than the length of the temperature sensing element. Generally, the immersion length is recommended to be greater than 100mm, and the immersion length for the 0-50 ℃ range is recommended to be greater than 150mm to ensure measurement accuracy.

4. Bimetal thermometers are not suitable for measuring the temperature of the medium inside open containers.

5. During storage, use, installation, and transportation, collision with protective tubes should be avoided, and the protective tubes should not be bent or deformed, let alone used as wrenches.

6. Regular inspection should be conducted under normal use. It is generally advisable to do so every six months.

7. It is not allowed to work in strong vibration environments to avoid affecting the lifespan of bimetallic devices. Electrical contact bimetallic thermometers are not allowed to be used in control circuits with high vibration to avoid affecting reliability.
